The Lemelson Center for the Study of Invention & Innovation at the Smithsonian National Museum of American History is “dedicated to exploring invention in history and encouraging inventive creativity in young people.” By clicking on the Resources tab, teachers and students can find classroom-ready materials; an index of invention stories; an invention archives; oral and video histories; reading lists including articles, books, and Web sites; and the MIND: Modern Inventors Documentation Program dedicated to preserving the records of inventions. The Video & Audio tab contains dozens of QuickTime podcasts from inventors and about inventions. The Centerpieces tab exposes the Center's virtual exhibits and explorations.
